Nepean Midget AAA rips Kemptville Midget AAA, 6-2

The Kemptville Midget AAA 73s had trouble finding ways to stop the Nepean Midget AAA Raiders, which beat 73s, 6-2.

Nepean Midget AAA forced Kemptville Midget AAA’s goaltenders to work between the pipes, taking 42 shots and forcing 36 saves. Nick Bond made 33 stops and Jacob Dioszeghy made three. The Raiders’ goal total was higher than their season average. Nepean Midget AAA averages 3.3 goals per game. The defensemen of the Raiders were also effective in the 73s’ zone, and came away with two goals.

Nepean Midget AAA was led by Geoff Dempster, who racked up one goal and one assist. Dempster scored 12:48 into the second period to make the score 2-0 Nepean Midget AAA. JJ Boucher assisted on the tally. Nepean Midget AAA additionally got points from Nicholas Domitrovic, who also registered one goal and one assist. Nepean Midget AAA also had goals scored by Lukash Matthews, Robbie Pickard, Paul Larabie, and Matt Arial, who scored one goal each. Other players who recorded assists for Nepean Midget AAA were Aidan Harris, Connor Lacey, and Ethan Rendell-Watson, who each chipped in one.

Kemptville Midget AAA put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow the Raiders to score on any of their four power plays.

The 73s were led by Mike Armstrong, who tallied one goal. Armstrong scored 10:40 into the third period to make the score 4-2 Nepean Midget AAA. Brady Elder picked up the assist. Kemptville Midget AAA also got a goal from John Beaton as well. More assists for Kemptville Midget AAA came via Joel Holtrop, who had one.

Marshall Frappier made 26 saves for Nepean Midget AAA on 28 shots. The Raiders incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. Kemptville Midget AAA incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
