Gloucester Midget AAA shrugs off penalties, upends Smiths Falls Midget AAA, 4-0

The Smiths Falls Midget AAA Bears failed to take advantage of their power play opportunities and the Gloucester Midget AAA Rangers shook off a number of penalties to win, 4-0.

Gloucester Midget AAA was led by Cameron Sinclair, who finished with one goal and one assist. Sinclair scored 8:25 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Gloucester Midget AAA. Erik Ross assisted on the tally.

The Rangers stifled Smiths Falls Midget AAA’s power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Gloucester Midget AAA forced the Bears goalie Kyle Renaud to work between the pipes, taking 34 shots.

Gloucester Midget AAA also got points from Sean Rakowski, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Gloucester Midget AAA also had goals scored by Nicolas Seguin and Sam Paquette, who scored one goal each. In addition, Gloucester Midget AAA received assists from Samuel Labre, who had one and Connor Noonan, who had two.

Gloucester Midget AAA ended with 25 minutes in penalty time with five minors and one major. The Rangers ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Ty Morelli was ejected from the game. Kyle Renaud made 30 saves for the Bears on 34 shots. Smiths Falls Midget AAA incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
