Kanata Midget AAA beats Hawkesbury Midget AAA 5-1 as Nocita gets hat trick

Luca Nocita netted a hat trick to lead the Kanata Midget AAA Lasers over the Hawkesbury Midget AAA Hawks, 5-1.

Nocita’s first goal came 13:22 into the first period. He then added goals at 6:19 into the second and at 18:13 into the third.

Kanata Midget AAA pulled out the victory even though it was hit with 16 penalty minutes.

The Lasers excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in seven chances. Kanata Midget AAA’s offense rang up 39 shots on Hawkesbury Midget AAA’s net.

Others who scored for Kanata Midget AAA included Ross Campbell and Felix Tourigny, who scored one goal each. More assists for Kanata Midget AAA came via David Silye, Daniel McIntyre, Mack Miller, and Kyle Lefebvre, who each chipped in one.

The Hawks struggled to stay out of the sin bin throughout the game as they finished the game with 23 penalty minutes for 11 opposing power plays.

Hawkesbury Midget AAA was led by Shownahnonkon Thompson, who scored the team’s only goal. Thompson scored 12:14 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Hawkesbury Midget AAA. Ryan Wells picked up the assist.

Jean-Philippe Tourigny rejected 21 shots on goal for the Lasers. Alex Labreche recorded 34 saves for the Hawks.
