Matthew Grouchy was all over the ice for the CIHA Green Midget AAA Green, as he tallied two goals in CIHA Green Midget AAA’s 2-0 win over the OHA U17 Midget AAA OHA U16.
Grouchy found the back of the net on the power play 17:33 into the second period to make the score 1-0 CIHA Green Midget AAA and again while 19:36 into the third to make the score 2-0 CIHA Green Midget AAA.
The Green’s penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on four OHA U17 Midget AAA power plays. CIHA Green Midget AAA was steadier on the defensive front than it has been for much of this season. The Green average 2.2 goals allowed per game.
Other players who recorded assists for CIHA Green Midget AAA were Cameron Pound and Jace Lis-DAlessandro, who contributed one each.
Ethan Hunt rejected 23 shots on goal for CIHA Green Midget AAA. The Green totaled 21 minutes in penalty time with three minors and one major and went 1-for-5 on the power play. CIHA Green Midget AAA ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Jacob Roberts was ejected from the game. Dillon Lamarche made 24 saves for OHA U17 Midget AAA on 25 shots. The OHA U16 incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
