Gloucester Midget AAA outlasts Ottawa Midget AAA, 3-2

The Gloucester Midget AAA Rangers gutted out a close 3-2 win against the Ottawa Midget AAA Senators.

Neither team gained more than a one-goal lead, and Sam Paquette‘s goal in the third period proved to be the difference maker.

Paquette had two goals to lead Gloucester Midget AAA to victory.

The Rangers excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in three chances.

Gloucester Midget AAA additionally got points from Marc Brosseau, who also registered one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Other players who recorded assists for Gloucester Midget AAA were Greg Love, Erik Ross, Cameron Sinclair, Connor Noonan, and Adam Johnston, who each chipped in one.

Ottawa Midget AAA struggled on the penalty kill, allowing Gloucester Midget AAA to score two power play goals on three chances.

The Senators were helped by Merrick Rippon, who grabbed one goal. Rippon scored 8:08 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Ottawa Midget AAA. Jean-Sylvain Boyer also scored for Ottawa Midget AAA. In addition, Ottawa Midget AAA received assists from Cameron Scrivens and Noah Haymes, who contributed one each.

Jean-Sebastien Gratton made 22 saves for the Rangers on 24 shots. Gloucester Midget AAA incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Nicolas Rousseau recorded 18 saves for Ottawa Midget AAA. The Senators incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
