Domitrovic’s big game bests Pembroke Midget AAA in 5-0 Nepean Midget AAA win

Behind a great game by Nicholas Domitrovic, who had two goals and two assists, the Nepean Midget AAA Raiders defeated the Pembroke Midget AAA Lumber Kings, 5-0.

Domitrovic found the back of the net 10:30 into the second period to make the score 1-0 Nepean Midget AAA and again while 4:31 into the third to make the score 5-0 Nepean Midget AAA.

Nepean Midget AAA pulled out the victory even though it was hit with 18 penalty minutes.

The Raiders excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in six chances. Nepean Midget AAA’s defensive play was more effective than usual against Pembroke Midget AAA. The Raiders allow 2.8 goals per game.

Nepean Midget AAA also got points from Kyle Kuehni, who also finished with two goals and one assist. Nepean Midget AAA also got a goal from Lukash Matthews as well. In addition, Nepean Midget AAA received assists from Brandon Thomas, Mackenzie White, and Matt Arial, who contributed one each and Aidan Harris and Geoff Dempster, who each chipped in two.

The Lumber Kings were often in penalty trouble, totaling six minors and one major for 27 minutes in penalty time. Pembroke Midget AAA surpassed its season average of 13.0 penalty minutes per game.

Anand Oberoi rejected 22 shots on goal for Nepean Midget AAA. The Raiders registered one goal on five power play opportunities. Darian McTavish took the loss and made 13 saves before being replaced by Jake Smith who made 12 saves. The Lumber Kings ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Andre Simard was ejected from the game.
