CIHA White Midget AAA downs Ottawa Midget AAA in overtime, 2-1 (OT)

The CIHA White Midget AAA White pulled out a 2-1 (OT) overtime victory over the Ottawa Midget AAA Senators on a clutch goal by Pavel Gogolev.

CIHA White Midget AAA was led by goalie Jacob Lavergne, who finished with 26 saves while allowing one goal. Lavergne certainly lowered his goals against average, which was 5.27 entering the contest.

The White were led by Gogolev, who racked up one goal. Gogolev scored on the power play 1:10 into overtime to make the score 2-1 CIHA White Midget AAA. CIHA White Midget AAA had gained a power play chance when Wade Brennan was whistled for boarding. Kenshin Hayashi picked up the assist.

The White managed to stay out of the box better than usual, totaling one minor for two minutes in penalty time. CIHA White Midget AAA ended up below its season average of 8.0 penalty minutes per game.

Seva Losev also scored for CIHA White Midget AAA. More assists for CIHA White Midget AAA came via Kyle Preston and Jeremy Vasquez, who contributed one each.

Ottawa Midget AAA’s penalty killing units received substantial work throughout the game as the Senators finished with 14 penalty minutes.

Ottawa Midget AAA was led by Tyler Villeneuve, who scored the team’s only goal. Villeneuve scored 10:52 into the second period to make the score 1-0 Ottawa Midget AAA. Jean-Sylvain Boyer provided the assist.

The White registered two goals on five power play opportunities. Nicolas Rousseau rejected 18 shots on goal for the Senators. Ottawa Midget AAA registered zero goals on one power play opportunities.
