McMahon’s goals lift Smiths Falls Midget AAA to 5-2 victory over Hawkesbury Midget AAA

The Smiths Falls Midget AAA Bears relied on the scoring touch of Dylan McMahon, who netted two goals, to beat the Hawkesbury Midget AAA Hawks, 5-2.

McMahon found the back of the net 49 seconds into the first period to make the score 1-0 Smiths Falls Midget AAA and again while 5:21 into the third to make the score 4-2 Smiths Falls Midget AAA.

Smiths Falls Midget AAA surpassed its usual scoring output this season. The Bears average 2.7 goals per game.

Smiths Falls Midget AAA also got points from Brock Boisclair, who also registered one goal and one assist. Smiths Falls Midget AAA also had goals scored by Nathan Bisson and Josh Bifolchi, who each put in one. Other players who recorded assists for Smiths Falls Midget AAA were Mackenzie Mercier, who had three and Chris Bernard, Ethan Coltart, Michael Hogan, and Spencer Shahen, who contributed one each.

Hawkesbury Midget AAA was helped by Shownahnonkon Thompson, who finished with one goal. Thompson scored 9:59 into the second period to make the score 3-2 Smiths Falls Midget AAA. Martin Lavigne provided the assist. Tyler Boivin also scored for Hawkesbury Midget AAA. In addition, Hawkesbury Midget AAA received assists from Liam Calder, Brett Romain, and Brandon Legare, who each chipped in one.

Alex Zoutis recorded 28 saves for Smiths Falls Midget AAA. The Bears incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. The Hawks’ Connor Morris stopped 22 shots out of the 27 that he faced. Hawkesbury Midget AAA incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
