The Colts defeat the Grads 6-4

Rico Dimatteo came up big, stopping 10 of 13 shots throughout the game. The Cornwall Colts took the lead late in the first on a goal from Jeremy Quesnel and never looked back.

Josh Barnes had a busy night with 2 goals and Justin Mcrae contributed with 2 points (1 goal, 1 assist). Jackson Arcan did his part, adding 2 points (1 goal, 1 assist).

During the first, Barnes opened the scoring for the Colts with a goal at 1:30 with a helper from Mulhearn. Poissant quickly followed with a goal at 1:53 with helpers from his linemates, Massie and Collins. Maccormick quickly followed with a goal at 2:56 with assists from his linemates, Mcrae and Shankar. Arcan quickly followed with a goal at 3:50 with helpers from his teammates Lycan and Francis. Mcrae answered for the Colts with a goal at 9:23 with assists from his linemates, Shankar and Maccormick. Quesnel netted what turned out to be the game winning goal at 17:43 with helpers from his linemates, Maccormick and Mulhearn.

During the second, Jamer answered for the Grads with a goal at 5:57 with an assist from Peck. Fabbro scored a goal at 9:27.

In the third period, Moise deposited a goal at 18:45 with helpers from his linemates, Arcan and Searles. Barnes quickly followed with a goal at 19:36.

The Colts’ victory was in no doubt helped out by Dimatteo’s big night as he stopped 10 of the 13 shots he faced. Dimatteo’s counterpart, Carter, also had a big night, managing to stop 25 of 30, but ultimately fell short.

This win brings the Cornwall Colts’ record to (2-5-0-0).
