Quesnel's and Maccormick's hat tricks helped the Colts crush the 73's 9-3

Jeremy Quesnel and Konnor Maccormick led the way with hat tricks as the Cornwall Colts crushed the Kemptville 73's 9-3 in a home game at Ed Lumley Arena in Cornwall. David A Poirier also had a big night with 5 points (1 goal, 4 assists). As well, the Cornwall Colts' offense had a big night, peppering the 73's with 28 shots throughout the game. The Cornwall Colts took the lead late in the second on a goal from David A Poirier.

Ethan Mulhearn did his part, adding 2 points (1 goal, 1 assist) and Justin Mcrae contributed with 2 assists. Ashton Fry chipped in with 2 points (1 goal, 1 assist).

In the first, Williams opened the scoring for the 73’s with a goal at 3:44. Maccormick answered for Cornwall with a goal at 12:27 with helpers from his teammates Poirier and Mulhearn.

In the second period, Fry answered for the 73’s with a goal at 1:05 with a helper from defenseman Hunter . Quesnel quickly followed with a goal at 2:13. Maccormick scored a goal at 12:19 with assists from Poirier and Mcrae. Poirier netted what turned out to be the game winning goal at 15:05 with helpers from Tanner and Vent. Quesnel deposited a goal at 17:08 with assists from Woodside and Mulhearn.

In the third period, Samson put in a goal at 0:58 with helpers from his linemates, Quesnel and Markell. Frazee answered for the 73’s with a goal at 5:56 with assists from Fry and Macdonald. Maccormick answered for Cornwall with a goal at 8:37 with helpers from Poirier and Markell. Quesnel netted a goal at 15:48 with assists from Hebert and Poirier. Mulhearn scored a goal at 19:24 with helpers from Mcrae and Sandilands.

The Colts’ victory was in no doubt helped out by Lascelle as he stopped 23 of the 26 shots he faced. On the other hand, Lascelle’s counterpart, Bond, and Kemptville’s defense has had better outings stopping only 16 of 21 shots.

This win brings the Cornwall Colts’ record to (17-13-4-1).
