Late goal helps the Colts defeat the Bears 5-3

David A Poirier scored the game winning goal late in the game as the Cornwall Colts defeat the the Smiths Falls Bears 5-3 in a home game at Ed Lumley Arena in Cornwall. Besides, the Cornwall Colts' offense had a big night, peppering the Bears with 40 shots throughout the game.

Jeremy Quesnel did his part, adding 3 points (1 goal, 2 assists) and Ethan Mulhearn chipped in with 3 points (1 goal, 2 assists). Theo Todd delivered for his team with 2 goals and Tate Leeson contributed with 2 points (1 goal, 1 assist).

In the first, Mcrae opened the scoring for the Colts with a goal at 19:35 with a helper from his teammate Maccormick.

During the second, Mulhearn netted a goal at 1:10 with helpers from his linemates, Quesnel and Collins. Todd finally put the Bears on the board with a goal at 4:44 with an assist from Leeson. Todd deposited a goal at 14:26 with assists from his linemates, Rincke and Russett.

During the third, Testani answered for the Colts with a goal at 15:58 with a helper from Massie. Leeson quickly followed with a goal at 17:34. Poirier quickly followed with what turned out to be the game winning goal at 18:40 with helpers from Quesnel and Mulhearn. Quesnel quickly followed with a goal at 19:05 with an assist from his linemate Mulhearn.

Cornwall’s victory was in no doubt helped out by Carr as he stopped 24 of the 27 shots he faced. Carr’s counterpart, Ryan, also had a big night, managing to stop 35 of 39, but ultimately fell short.

This win brings the Cornwall Colts’ record to (5-8-2-0).
